8 March 2022.: After two ceremonies in the morning',a third rededication ceremony, took place in the afternoon for Sapper Stanley Evelyn Barnden at Kandahar Farm Cemetery at Nieuwkerke (aka Neuve Eglise), Heuvelland, Flanders,

Sapper Barnden was born in 1889 in Walton-le-Soken, Essex. He was a pre-war regular soldier, often referred to as the ‘Old Contemptibles’, who formed the British Expeditionary Force sent to the Western Front on the outbreak of war. He served with the 17th Field Company, Royal Engineers. Sapper Barnden and a fellow soldier were working inside a dugout in the firing line when it collapsed. Both men were buried under the debris. His fellow soldier could be pulled out and was rescued but Stanley Barnden had been killed by the falling debris. This happend on 12 December 1914 near Neuve-Église in Belgium. Sapper Stanley Barnden was 25 years old. His original grave at this cemetery got lost. Now he's found again at last.

REST IN PEACE DEAR 'KNOWN' SOLDIER.

The service has been organised by the Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre. It was conducted by Revd. Nick Sharpe, Chaplain to the Forces. The service was attended by British Embassy Defence Staff, CWGC staff and local dignitaries and by serving soldiers of the Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment, 35 Engineer Regiment, Royal Engineers and veterans from the Hampshire Regiment Association, and people dedicated to remembrance. Headstone is provided as usual by the CWGC whi takes care of it in perpetuity.

In the morning most of these officials and people also attended the rededication cermonievat Vichte and at Heestert (West Flanders) for Pte. Holiday and L. Cpl. Munday, who were killed at the end of October 1918, both of the Hamsphire Regiment, that is pepetuated by the the Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment. Hence these military and Chaplain were present at Kandahar Farm too.

8 maart 2022. Na twee ceremonieën in de voormiddag, vond in de namiddag een 'rededication' ceremonie plaats voor Sapper Stanley Evelyn Barnden op Kandahar Farm Cemetery te Nieuwkerke (Neuve Eglise), Heuvelland. Sapper Barnden  werd geboren in 1889 in Walton-le-Soken, Essex. Hij was reeds voor de oorlog bij het leger en bij het uitbreken van de oorlog behoorde hij zodoende tot de oorspronkelijke British Expeditionary Force, de B.E.F., die naar het front werd gestuurd. Hij diende bij de 17th Field Company van de Royal Engineers (i.e. de Genie). Sapper Barnden en een kameraad waren aan het werk in de frontlinie in een dugout toen die instortte. Beide mannen werden bedolven onder het puin. De andere soldaat kon uit het puin worden getrokken en gered maar Stanley Barnden was gedood door het instortende puin. Dit gebeurde op 12 december 1914 nabij  Nieuwkerke (Neuve-Église) in West Vlaanderen. Sapper Stanley Barnden was 25 jaar. Zijn oorspronkelijke graf op Canada Farm Cemetery ging verloren in de oorlog.  Nu is hij opnieuw gevonden en rust verder in een gekend graf.

De ceremonie werd georganiseerd door de Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre. Aalmoezenier Nick Sharpe ging voor in de dienst.  De plechtigheid werd bijgewoond door een vertegenwoordiger van de British Embassy Defence Staff, vertegenwoordigers van de CWGC en van het Royal British Legion, offcieren en militairen van de Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment, 35 Engineer Regiment, Royal Engineers. Mensen die de herdenking zijn toegewijd waren ook aanwezig. De nieuwe grafsteen werd door de CWGC voorzien zoals altijd die er voor altijd blijft  zorg voor dragen.

's Morgens woonden de meeste van de personen ook  de twee ceremonies bij te Vichte ent Heestert (West Flanders) for Pte. Holiday and L. Cpl. Munday, die sneuvelden eind oktober 1918, beiden van het Hamsphire Regiment, dat nu werd opgevolgd door de Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment.  Zodoende verzorgden deze militairen en de aalmoezenier ook de dienst op Kandahar Farm Cemetery.
